I did a search and read all I could find on putting the bike away for the winter, but I still have a few questions...
1. If there is synthetic oil in the bike now, can I put regular oil in for the winter, and go back to synthetic for spring?
2. Is it a bad idea to change the plugs now, or should I wait for spring?

1. I wouldn't. Just buy some cheaper brand of synthetic and replace it with good synthetic next year.

2. I'd wait until spring.

wait until spring to change your plugs, why bother now?? I'd keep synth in since you have synth in now -- some believe you can switch from reg to synth and vice versa without problems, but I wouldn't.

Check your manual. It should have a maintenance schedule inside. I changed the plugs on my '96 at 19,000 miles, and they still looked really good.

I agree. Just put a cheaper synthetic in for the winter months since you are only looking for a lower-viscous oil for when you run it in colder weather. I am not sure that going from synthetic to dino has an effect on anything like some say, but I wouldn't take the chance regardless.

And wait until Spring to change those plugs.;)
