Was warming the bike up yesterday with the choke on at about 3000 rpms and I went to put the sidestand down so I could get off and close the garage but I hit the shift lever down into first. Big clunk and the bike quit. Started back up fine and runs fine but it sounds a little different going through the gears. It could be just me being over paranoid, hearing things that aren't there but do I have anything to worry about?

It's definitely not good to get into a gear without the clutch and then to stall the bike. Just be glad that the bike didn't lunge and get dumped by accident (I've seen it happen). The tansmission should be fine unless the gears were already beaten up, but I wouldn't worry, just be concious about it next time.

Thanks guys. I am definitely more carefull now. The last thing I need is to have transmission work done or dump the bike in the driveway.
