That shit started wayyyy before the ZX14. Busa smack talk dates from the first one that rolled off the assembly line. There used to actually be some validity to it, since in the early days Suzuki ruled the "hypersport" class when it was competing with the ZX-11 and Blackbird.

When the ZX-12R was released and soundly trounced the Busa, shit talk went into overdrive due to Suzuki cultist fanboi butthurt, especially considering it was a full 100cc less. After the ZX14 shit just went all to hell since Busa owners have no outlet for their frustration and shame over having micro penises, they direct that rage at the ZX14.

I've heard the arguments (ad-nauseum) too, and in my NTBH-opinion, the Busa is THE most butt-ugliest, BIG 'bore' hyper-bike EVER to come out of ANY Japanese bike-maker...

..and the Honda Blackbird comes in a VERY close-second, NOT so much because of it's performance or 'looks'...but because it's just plain..."Meh"

And on that note, I can't be the only Kawi-driver who noticed the bike 'Maverick' is driving in the sequel to Top-Gun...

...strange that they didn't put him on a ZX14 ?

...but I am looking forward to the 'Tron - Legacy-esche' scene, where Maverick pulls a dust-covered tarp off his old first-gen 900 Ninja...

...that's SURE to make the goose (NO pun-intended) pimples explode, all over Kawi-driver's bodies, when they see that...lol

I wonder if he drives that into a Kawi-dealer & uses it as a 'trade-in' for the H2R he's seen driving, later-on in the movie ? ? ?

The last time I EVER saw a Suzuki in a movie was 1989's 'Black-Rain'...there were some Gixxer's (ridden by Yakuza-heavies) and two DR-650's used in the climactic chase-scenes (through rice-paddies) towards the very end...

Suzuki really needs to 'up it's game' if they truly want to out-sell Kawasaki, after Top-Gun II comes out.

Not easily 'programmed, categorized or referenced'.

To me there is no contest really, Kawasaki always produced the fastest, baddest, coolest bikes.

Kawasaki was basically established as a company with bikes like that and the others are still following today!

The Haya was just another defeated contender, a mere chapter in Kawa's book of glory
Jimclarque and Machinist like this.
