I am looking for the Initial (baseline) settings and jet sizes Kawasaki used on the 1998 ZX6R.
I am having issues with a (new to me) Ninja.
Seems to be running real rich (I live in Denver @ 5,000+ feet of elevation).
Backfires and stalls under acceleration. If I let off the throtle and pull the cluth, it will keep it form stalling. This is more of an intermitent issue than an all the time issue. Also have to hold the throttle open to start the bike to get enough air through the carbs. Lots of Fuel smell when I warm up the bike.
This is on a Completely Stock Bike (I think). Exhaust is stock, but not sure about the carb settings. I have cleaned the airfilter and changed the plugs. But this did not help the issue.
Thinking about pulling the carbs off the bike and cleaning them, Possibly dropping the Main Jet size one to two sizes. What else should I be looking at and checking? (will also be changing the fuel filter).
Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.
