It's true, my ticking is gone too just by going to the dealership and letting them tighten my spark plugs with their more efficient tools.
After I did my plugs, the bike would start fine, but with time it would start ticking with every revolution. It even ticked faster as I revved my engine. The power also had decreased very slightly. I wasn't sure if it was something I did with the plugs, or a new valve or cam problem.
So I brought it over to the dealership and pulled off the tank and fairings in the parking lot. They used their angled socket and snaking wire socket to swap out plug #2 (which I couldn't get out) and tighten the other 3. Once I started the bike, voila! The ticking was gone! As it turns out, plug #3 was only in by a few threads, and wasn't tightned at all.
So it looks like the ticking came from a leak in cylinder #3 from the spark plug NOT being all the way in. Now it's back to normal, and you have NO idea how great that feels
