I need some help I have noticed sometimes recently that my battery doesn't have the power to turn my bike over at times after having my lights on for a short ride.
I took the battery to battery plus and they told the battery was at 13v and testing like a new unit. my next thinking was damn the alternator,
so I put the battery back in and set it on the tender and it started right up. hmmmm
tried to run the bike without the headlights on and found that it starts and turns off no issue. someone told me to check the ballast( I have two in the bike from the last owner). without headlights I went on a really long ride yesterday and the bike was fine. I was afraid of the bike not wanting to start while I was out on the road. but the bike start easy with no effort.
it has to be something with the HID set up. the last owner insisted I needed a new battery but that's not the case.
The location of the ballasts are under the air flow box but kinda on top of the engine spark plug area.
if overheating is making them shut off I will move them to see if that will stop the battery draining issue.
any ideas? if the ballast weren't working at all the lights wouldn't even turn on from the videos I have been looking at.
