New Key Needed What are my options?

Sorry guy, but whether you are a complete beginner or not, there were a couple of things that you could have done to prevent your current situation and I say this not so much to be critical of you, but to warn other new riders.

First of all, having both your main key AND the spare together was just asking for trouble because as you now know, losing one means losing both. It's called a "spare" for a reason and common sense would indicate that they should be kept separately.

The bigger mistake was in either not reading the owner's manual or not following its advise because towards the beginning it clearly says to record the key number and it gives you a picture of where you can get the number off the metal tag and a blank little box where you can enter that information in the book. Apparently, you failed to do this and as a result, do not have the correct key number which would allow the dealer to make you a key. When you say the dealers tell you key codes don't exist, I believe they are telling you that no one has any record of what the code is for your bike except for...you.

The biggest mistake however, was not saving the little metal tag that came with your keys which had the key number stamped into it. I can only assume that it was also attached to the main and spare keys which are of course now in the hands of the person who stole your girlfriend's purse. If that is not the case, see if you can find it and you will have the key number. As mentioned, there is a little picture of it in your owner's manual on page 25.

Not sure why you need to break into your back seat, so I won't comment on that part.

Good luck in getting a key sometime soon.

Not sure if you live with your Girlfriend or not (if your bike is there) but if you do and they snagged the purse (ID), they have an address....and keys to your bike. Food for thought.
Excellent point and good reason not to get a key made for the existing ignition. Even if they are not living together, he obviously spends a lot of time there since she has his keys for safe keeping. Also, if they were taken from the car and it was parked at the home, they know the address/area whether they got an ID or not.

Best to get a whole new ignition setup with new keyS.
