I did them myself also, no special tools needed just some patience.
If you can change the oil and adjust a clutch then you can change the clutch springs it really is that easy.
Cool man! Being a mechanic, I've got plenty of patience... Up to a certain point, then stuff starts getting broke or yelled at haha. But thanks again for advice!

Changed the springs last night. Swap went pretty smooth. For piece of mind i would recommend changing the clutch cover gasket. I didn't and i have no leaks but for $10 it can't hurt to change it.
Basically just drain the oil, remove right fairing, remove clutch cover. I only removed one spring at a time to be on the safe side.
I only went down through the neighborhood so i don't know how they do but the clutch is noticeably stiffer. Feels more like an ss clutch pull.

I also bought 2 sets of springs(1 set Barrnets for the 09 and 1 set BRP for the 11) and gaskets. I didn't use either gasket and now have 2 new gaskets hanging on the garage wall. Its been over a year now and no leaks.
 
Oh and your not really going to notice a difference just taking it easy around the neighborhood, it's when you get more aggressive on the throttle that you will realize the difference.
The springs will break in a little and your hand will get used to the harder pull in a week or 2. Be careful your first couple times taking off fast from red lights, you will be getting wheelies on accident.
 
I have issues doing power wheelies in first. Was able to do it last season, and my wheel sometimes comes up when I'm with a passenger.

Yesterday I gunned it but my rear tires started drifting from under me. Maybe it's because it's too bald? Too much tire pressure? (I'm at the recommended factory settings)
 
Clutch ups are more predictable and easier to control.

I said the same thing on the fist page. Chopping the throttle is a good way to get your nuts mashed into the gas tank. Not fun.
 
Ok so bumping this thread again...

I've been trying to wheelie for sometime now and I can sort of clutch up in 1st...its just very sudden and i'm still trying to get used to it.

Why doesn't the bike clutch up in 2nd though? It feels like the clutch just slips...anyone else have this problem?

I ride a 650r. It will clutch up in 2nd, you just have to give it a whole lot more throttle. It's takes practice my friend. Master it in first, practicing using the rear break to control height and bring it down instead of using the throttle. When you can wheelie like its your job in 1st then move to 2nd. If you want to do them in others gears get a bigger bike lol. Good luck, ride on.

You don't need big cubes, 4cyls or masses of power to wheelie, technique is key.
^agreed. For those of you who can't your bikes to wheelie and thinks it's the bikes fault or that your bike is to small please watch this video. Cuz then you will not only feel like a lady but realize that it's not the bike it's you..
