Doesn't anyone read their owners manual anymore? After my first run on the bike I had all this adjusted, they cover it all in the manual.

READ the manual, that's why they gave it too you.

READ the manual.

Oh by the way, did I tell you?

READ the manual.

lol

I agree with half of what you said. The thing is that sometimes people read the manual and aren't sure if they fully understand what it is saying. So they come on the forums asking for assistance from some of the outstanding members that we have here. Reading the manual is different than comprehending what the literature says.

so i just read through this whole thread because this was something i wanted to do, and since I don't have the manual, i was hesitant to just start messing with things - especially something that could effect the rear brake. Anyway, after reading kkim's post I decided to go ahead and adjust mine and update the thread since the OP hasn't yet...

It worked like a charm just like kkim explained to do it. I only used the tools provided with the bike. On an important note, I DID have to adjust the brake light activator thingy. I just adjusted the brake pedal to where I wanted it (basically as far as possible) then turned the battery on and kept turning the brake light thing until it turned off (and then just a little more for some play). real easy to do, only took 5 minutes. So big THANK YOU to kkim for explaining how to do it - cause not all of us have a manual. Thanks.

maybe merge this thread with the one HKr1 linked to and make it a sticky?

and a note on 'reading the owners manual' sometimes people don't understand the technical jargon used in the manual, and just end up more confused after reading it, i know sometimes when i read directions i still have no idea what to do until someone shows me how to do it, people just learn differently, some have to have visual imagery, others can just read a paragraph full of technical terms, others have to audibly hear it explained to them, besides its been proven that teaching other people how to do things makes you know/remember it better too, so really you're not just helping the person asking the question, you're helping yourself out too, with that said, its still important to skim the owners manual over at the very least, and get all the important info (ie type of gas, type/ capacity of oil, scheduled maintenence intervals, etc)

Mind telling me what page in the owners manual explains rear brake lever height adjustment? I've read the owners manual and couldn't find it which is why I went through the trouble of posting. Page number, please?

Only place I could find this info was in the service manual.
OOPS, my bad! I think that I was referring to the brake light adjuster assuming that it raised the pedal, when it doesn't.

Sorry about that, so don't listen to anything I said about this other then read the manual. lol

Just to be clear.. I was not trying to jump in your shit. I'm a firm believer in all riders reading their owners manual, too.

I was really hoping you saw in the owners manual something that I was missing. It's all good, man. :)
All good brah! There is no need to clear anything up, you would be the last person I would think of "jumping in my shit". I thank you for pointing that out. I don't want to be giving out wrong info to people.
