Question to anyone that has the M4 Slipon (the short one). Being that it is close to your right foot, does your boot get hot? I know it sounds stupid, but its puzzling. Im thinking about getting the exhaust and thought i would ask this question. Thanks in advance.

I'm not positive but I'm pretty sure ray didn't ask anything about quality vs other brands.Pretty sure his question was about melting boots and such. Most people seem quite happy with there M4's and from what I see the M4 gp full system puts out more hp than the Akrapovic and both have a great racing pedigree. I've had both Akrapovic and M4 slip ons on my bike and it all comes down to preference. I just don't get all of these Akrapovic lemmings. That being said if I was doing engine work or major mods like that I would probably go with Leo Vince or another higher end exhaust ( got my eyes on a Beet) but in the meantime especially for a slip on I would say the M4 is more than capable. For the record I experienced no melting of shoes and no it's not too loud!

I had an MF for quite some time. Never had a problem with my shoes melting but my foot did get warm from time-to-time on hot days. Now that I think about it though, my feet still get warm because they are so close to the heat of the engine but never have I melted a shoe from the bike or exhaust.

No heat probs, now if you have vortex rearsets youll have to modify the bracket or it hits your rear brake pedal.

I posted this in another thread, but I think it depends on how tall you are and where you place your feet on the pegs. I'm 5'10" and place the balls of my feet on the pegs. With the aggressive riding position these bikes offer, my heel ends up being higher and 'away' from the pipe, as opposed to right on top of it.

A friend of mine is 6'2" and he rides with the middle of his feet on the pegs (he also wears boots with a pretty thick heel). Because of both of these factors, his heel comes really close to the exhaust. If he put the balls of his feet on the pegs instead, this wouldn't be an issue, but at his height, it's not as comfortable for him.

You didn't ask about sound, but someone mentioned it above. If you're concerned about the sound, it will depend on how well your helmet blocks it out. As it comes, I found it a bit too loud when I opened up the throttle so I purchased the stage 2 silencer which made it perfect (for me). I created this video to compare. Keep in mind the revs only go up to ~4000rpm and then ~8000 rpm. It gets louder as you increase the revs.

If you do get it, it installs quickly and easily once you get the old exhaust off. There's a great step by step instruction post on here from haksu (http://www.kawiforums.com/2009-zx-6r/156142-how-install-m4-gp-slip-exhaust-09-10-zx6r.html).

If your heel sometimes rests on the stock exhaust, could it be concluded that it will likely come into contact with the M4 GP slip on exhaust? Would hate to ruin some Sidi on the exhaust. I usually ride with my toes on the pegs.

Sorry for the double post, but both threads were open.

When does you're heel rest on the stock exhaust? At a stop? While riding? If your boots are touching the stock exhaust, it will most likely touch most aftermarket exhausts.
