Hi guys,

Does anyone know if a zx9r 94-97 headlight wil fit a zx6r 95-97?

many thanks

Bart
I have tested it out.
Here in the netherlands, the ZX-9r Headlight from a 94-97, have separate headlights for high en low beam.
this Headlight fit with no problems in a Zx-6r (or zx600 95-97) 95-97.

I have fitted the lens with a xenon kit :)

Hey guys,

I have a 97 zx6-r, with a 2001 zx6-r motor. I am debating on doing a fairing swap. Will the fairings off a 2001 zx6-r fit? If anyone knows how I can pull it off let me know. I'm fine with doing minor modifications if needed.

Thanks!
Nick

Lets try this again I just had it all typed out and when I went to post it the forum said I wasn't logged in and I lost it all

I have 98-02 fairings on my bike so here's what I know. Lets start with the tail fairing. You will need to drill a new hole on each side of the subframe and make brackets to mount the rear. Here's some pics

The fuel tank is a direct bolt on.

The side fairings need a new mounting bracket made for the top and the lower bolts into the bracket from the old fairing. I had to use the 98-02 coolant bottle to get my fairings to fit the frame. The holes in the new fairings are lower so the brackets I made bolt to the old holes on the frame, bend inward then down again. If you use a straight bracket the fairings will flare away from the frame and not look right. Here's some pics

The 95-97 and 98-99 front fairings may look the same but the arent. The headlight mounting holes are different and they are shaped alittle different on the bottom. I still have the 95-97 front fairing on my bike but I bought a new 98-99 on ebay last week so as soon as it gets here I'll know more. The 3 holes that bolt to the side fairings don't match up either

@ramairgtz

Did the original seats fit onto your bike after the fairing swap or did you have to use the J's seats?

Hi, sorry if I've brought up and old thread but i just thought i would mention that i have an F2 96 model with a G engine in. The only prob i seen was the rad if different as the G engine has the water pipes from behind the oil filter that aren't present on the F. Also to get the G exhaust onto an F the panels hit the exhaust near the foot peg so i cut mine down.

Also got a J but i'm thinking of changing the tyres from the F onto but haven't looked at the sizes yet. wheels wont fit so it would be a tyre swap onto the J's wheels.

I posted in the ZX9R section but no response. I have a 02 ZX9R. Can I use the swing arm and rear shock from an 05 ZX10R ? Also are the any tail swaps? I know the zx6 can accept the r6 tail so can my 9r accept an r1 tail? I didn't see much in here on the zx9r interchange
Thanks

Also, I gather from reading other threads that the stock 41mm forks are probably the best 41mm forks around, and that rebuilding them and upgrading springs/damping with racetech or ohlins componenets is probably my best option. Is this a valid conclusion or are there better front suspension options out there that I can swap in?
Bump, also are there any upside down fork options?
Thanks

i'm going to do an 04-05 zx10r fork swap. they share the same wheel bearing part number so they should have the same front axle diameter? so i can still keep my zx6r rim and just use everything else off the zx10r front end. if anyone can help me out on the front axle diameter of the 95-97 zx6r that would reassure my assumption greatly.
