My 03 zx6r runs at right around 5000rpm's at 60mph in 5th gear and everything on the bike is stock, well except for the scratches where I dropped it against a wall.
gearing is the same on 98-02 bikes I believe, or at least very close. should not make much of a difference if you have stock sized sprockets
