I dont live in the area.

Just out of curiosity, how come it has to be 'black bike week,' and not just 'bike week'?
bike week is the week before. (harley crowd)

bbw is the next week and is called so because once apon a time basicly nobody but blacks rode a crotch rocket.

it's never been a problem or issue that i know of. other than last year when it became racist that on bike week, u could travel both directions on the strip (wich is nice). on bbw u can only go 1 direction down the strip. now it's 1 direction for both weeks.

i know i would never go to either. to many cops, and why the hell do i want to "walk" my bike down the strip?

bbw gets so crazy down there that a lot of hotels close for cleaning or say no vacancy and a lot of resurants close all day or early because peeps won't leave tips or leave without paying at all. the natives hate bbw. i usually go a week or 2 after. u here alot of hatred from the natives afterwards lol.

Man, if there was a designated WBW people would be shitting themselves uncontrollably for a month.

looks like they would get mad for being singled out.
just like the old white/black water fountains.
but it's like a national holiday for black bikers.
ovcourse there's whites there too.

and hell no i'm not racist. dam

All I see is a bunch of posers and bikes that probably have around 2000 miles on them...

I use to attend, until that unfortunate incident when there was a scheduling mix up and black bike week occured the same weekend as white bike week and since then they just called it "bike week". Blows, I really liked the racist tones of bbw where we could talk about crackers freely, ahhh the good ole days. jj

They use to have a small gathering in Galveston TX too.

Here Is What I Really Want To Know..How Are The Women?

If you can imagine 175,000 sexy women, in teeny tiny bikinis, "droppin it like it's hot" on the back of a bike, then you should have an idea.

And What About The Men?

Ladies...can you imagine 175,000 men on the hottest bikes in the country ready to give YOU a ride?

If you love men on bikes and love to have fun, you wont find a larger gathering of professional chocolate men ready to show you their engines.
you gotta be kidding me... i think i'll pass

So you guys are making fun of something that you really dont know anything about oreven attended. Actually anyone is aloud to attend. Theres no restrictions on who aloud to attend. Ive seen people from all different backgrounds attend this event. What makes this even any different than Daytona or any of the other biker events? Cause Ive damn sure seen plenty of poser, squids, and whatever else at those events. Definitely more of a mixed crowd, but the white to black ratio is definitely not even. I dont think its wrong at all for a culture to start a event of their own and call it theirs reguardless of race. Its seems to me because the word "Black Bikers" gets thrown in a sentence everyone is oh no i cant attend that event. Thats a bunch of BS.

you'll find that the majority of KF members wouldn't goto Daytona Bike Week either....nothing really to do with race, but rather with sq*ids and "walking" your bike everywhere, and probably a high rate of crashes/thefts

I've gone to Myrtle a few times. I don't call it BBW because that's not accurate. I believe the locals probably started that name. There are plenty of white people there. It's mainly sportbike week vs harley week. It's really not that bad. If you spend all your time on the strip then you're a dumbass. I was there for 5 days. You hit the strip in the morning then again at night. We still rode the twisties hard and partied away from the strip/cops. I doubt I'll be going back. The south is a very racist place. More Harley riders died the week before (7 deaths vs 2 for bbw). 1 of riders that died during bbw did so when a bus turned in front of him. Many shops go on vacation for the week, North Atlantic started charging a fee to get into the city limits-just a bunch of bullshit aimed at keeping the majority black crowd away. I plan on spending my money where it's welcomed.

So true!

It is just an event for sportbike riders held after the following "harely bike meet". There are a lot more black people attending the sportbike meet but for that matter there is a lot more other races attending too. The Harley meets tend to just bring out the ******* look alikes.

The Galveston so called bbw originated (or trying to be promoted) out of what I think use to be the Kappa beach party. But to me it has always been simply Sportbike Week.

Btw, I'm starting to notice a lot more African American folks riding Harleys, chrome nazi helmets and all, lmao.

i agree with the whole spending money where it's welcome idea. Yeah, there's a big racial issue there that I really don't care to address. But I don't want to take my bike because it's not that fun to walk it and worry about it getting stolen. My bike would overheat in that crowd, but it will be fun meeting new people and going to the waters.

So, to each his own.

Well it is because if I(a white man), decided I was going to start a white bike week, the fucking NAACP would have me shut down before it could even get off the ground. Thats the way it is. Why does BET exist and not WET. They would have a fit and call it racist. But they want to be equal? If they want to be equal then why do they do this? They are segregating themselves. Its bullshit really.

FYI, its "allowed". And regarding the other statement in bold: Yeah fucking right. Maybe YOU think its fine, but rest assured, the second anything is proclaimed as "White ______________", the outspoken, overzealous "black rights" activists come out of the woodwork ready to crucify the white population.

WTF! Dude your way in left field somewhere I wont even comment on that! I dont even wanna start, but i will say this. get your info right before you comment. BET isn't even black owned anymore, MTV took it over, and no blacks arent complaining about it. Secondly do u really wanna compare the number of black own boardcast stations to white own stations. Not even a topic worth discussing. We could go on all day about black this white that. It shouldnt matter the race. Its doing for yourself. Having your own shit to enjoy. That doesnt mean eveyone else is shutout. You chose not to attend. Hell I go to the Puerto rican Day Parade every year in NYC. I love me some spanish mamis..lol, and im not even hispanic whats so ever, but because its titled Puerto rican day parade does that mean I shouldnt attend because of its title. Hell freakin no. Ignorance is bliss. See your newbie welcome to the forum.
