Handle bar adjustment due to lowside...?

I tried searching an couldn't really find anything.

My handle bars are tweaked to the right slightly due to a recent lowside.
Do you adjust them with the bolt in the center??

Bolt in the center holds the whole front suspension to the frame I wouldn't mess with it.

You don't say what kind of bike you have, but it's different if you have clip ons or handlebars. If it's handlebars and they're tweaked all you can do is replace them. If it's clipons you can loosen the pinch bolt and rotate it slightly on the damaged side to possibly make it close to straight, but I'd just replace it anyways.

Pictures would help either way.

You can usually find spares on e-bay for a decent price that are in good shape.

since.. when?

the bolt holds the top clamp to the stem. the forks are bolted and clamped to both the top and bottom claps AND clip-ons.. therefore, in order to drop the front, one must loosen all the bolts clamping the forks in the triple trees AND the big nut on top, THEN the locknuts UNDER the top triple tree clamp. ;)

The 250 uses clip ons that bolt to the upper triple tree (called triple tree because it has 3 holes in it). You cannot adjust these, if it is bad, or if it bothers you then I would suggest buying a new one. There is not a safe adjustment you can make to these ones because of the way they are mounted.

This is a very common issue with the 250s when they go down. The link I posted is from the 250 section. Since apparently the OP never went there to read it, here's the meat and potatos of that thread: YouTube - Two Clicks Out 15: Tweeked Triple Clamps

A bent fork won't make the handlebars not straight. It'll make the fork not work properly and it may even get hung up in its travel. A bent triple clamp or handlebar/clip on will make it seem not straight.

a bent fork or forks twisted in the triples will give the illusion of the bars being bent. when the forks twist in the triples the upper triple will no longer be properly aligned with the lower triple. with the wheel at fill lock to the left and then to the right one of the bars will be closer to the frame than the other.

same thing can happen if the forks bend between the triples. and usually if the forks bend anywhere, they're going to twist in the tree as well

If your forks bent between the triples I would expect that you will have far greater problems then just a bent clip on. It takes a LOT of force to bend them between those two points.

Heres what happened...

I was goin through some curves in an industrial park.
When it happened I was probably goin 50 mph? Anyway, i got close to the edge of the road an hit some loose ... I dont know what, but it sent me into the grass. I dont know if you can tell that the H-bars are tweaked to the right but the front wheel is straight.
I dont know if this helps or not.
