I know some of you have been wondering where I've been on the Big Bore bike build... I been buying more parts and basically busy with my new set of twins :) ... But the build never stopped just slowed down... As for those who don't know, I'm basically building a fully built motor with lots of toys... From Motor, to electronics, to cool stuff etc. I've been working on his bike since Nov. 2009 buying parts after parts so once I have all my parts purchased... Just to mount them on...

I LOVE MY 636... Many people told me "why didn't u just get a zx10? If u wanted something faster" Cause its NOT a 636! Lol... Something about the 636 just straight up SEXY! :)

Be patiet with me as my internet is down and the cable company has me waiting days to have it fixed so I'm doing this from my phone.

So far this is the parts purchased already, here we go and hope u enjoy reading my build:

I streched cause I'm going to be going to the strip as well as there isn't much curves here in Orlando, mostly straight away and the closest Track is 2.5hrs away.... Stand alone u mean MPS?? I just hate having the extra bottle if I can avoid it:(

I have Hamaguchi exhaust also. It's awesome!

I wanted a full system but love the dual pipe look... I was so close to buying a Nassert Beet (might buy one later after im done, just to have)... How long have u had yours?

Damn! That is an impressive parts list. I can barely wait to see the finished product. You going to bring it out to speedworld when you finish it up?

#8 ·
Of course!!!! Going to do a couple of tes runs before I put the nitrous on... I will keep u posted... When my bik is done I actually want to do a meet up with the Orlando area guys then take a ride maybe hit up the Ale house...

#5 ·
Nice list for sure, but it is about time you got your ass on track & focused to get this done!

So i have to ask why not the intake and exhaust cam that NPS have available?
What valve springs are you using?
Being you have the multi-function Hub will you be doing a race fuel map as well as pump gas?

#6 · (Edited)
Lol.... Hey JD! I know its been forever... I was just conversating with Steve (littleman) at the track over here... I can't wait to get done.
I did get the NPS cams (they actually are not NPS per-say) they have Webcams custom do their cams to their specs...
The springs... I was suggested to just stay with OEM as they are strong as it is (not sure yet) Bbut NPS has stated that they have tested the stock valves to be the strongest...
Yes I will be running 2 maps... As well as I needed to the muti function hub to plug in all the Dynojet stuff I have as it has muti inputs...

Hey JD I been meaning to ask you... In italy do that have the Black on Black HyperPros?
I know here in the states they have the black and gold (Gold rotating knob, tube end and mounting kit in gold) But I was googling and found Black on Black (Black everyting even the mounting kit)? I called Hyper Pro USA and they basically told me that the site I saw it on is
the Netherlands Hyper Pro site... I tried calling them and e-mailing them but no reply

Looks like this: (but that's a CBR1000rr mounting kit)

hey man i will check once i get back to italy, but i can tell you right now this would not even be remotely cheap!
Nothing in Europe from major companies are low priced, would say this would be the same price as a new stateside unit but in EURO..figure $1.40 for every US dollar price.

Is anodzing out fo the question?

#10 · (Edited)
I'm not savey of dampers so I wouldn'tknow how to take it apart as well as the anodizing is going to cost me like $50... Now I went to a local shop and to tear down and put back together thy are charging $100 so that $150 additional to what I'm going to pay for the damper... I investigated...

Don't u have to subtract 20% VAT? (From what I've heard)

#15 ·
Lmfaoooo... All u guys are bustin my chops of streching, (I'm going to be spraying nitrous) but here in Orlando the only curves are the ramps getting on and off the freeway... Its all straight aways... and there's no track that has twisties, the closest one is like 2.5 hours away... Possibly buying a second 636 for twisties to leave at my house in Maryland... Now there is A LOT of twisties out there :)

Thing is honestly we are talking about bikes 6 years old...and many of us have had them for a long time...
As for modding and spending goes, MOST people if you know where you spend your money you might just rethink the wish i had your bank account or money..

Jay has been putting this together for over a year now, and when people mention my bike it is 6 years in the making so spread the cost of a paid off bike and well it is not nearly as much as some make it out to be.

The guy on the zxforums (lives in colordado so some power is sapped for sure), did his bike without the carillo rods and some of the nice things Jay has, and i am sure Jays bike should be a monster especially with the Nitrous.
Looking forward to seeing this get gone, as i have tinkered with the idea for a long time and well this might give me that extra push i need to finish mine.

I hear ya, JD - but I was only teasing Jay. I've been working on my own modding project over the last couple of years which is on the edge of "completion" (inasmuch as these things are never really completed) and last week I had to sit down and work out the cost of everything I've installed, for insurance purposes. I knew I'd spent a lot, but I didn't realise it was THAT much. As you say, when it's spread out over time, it's not quite as painful...

-KaWI-636-, you just go to the 10r want-a-be section now....we have all but forgot about your overheating issue since you are wanting the new and UGLY as sin 10r.

just kidding man, i will bust anyone's balls who is going with the new 10r...hell maybe the next generation might be for me...at this rate doubtfull!

#26 ·
Jay.. who the fuck you think you are coming in here all boss like and not postin pics of your shit.
wtf man
you're fired.

gtfo.
i am taking this thread over from here.

#28 ·
I ♥ you sir

get pics of the engine build mang! hell i'll probably have a whole 2GB card dedicated to my turbo build. eye-fucking a megasquirt kit on ebay right now..
keep it up bro. thats a nasty list of shit that should make some great numbers.

#29 ·
Thanks!!! Just posted pics of some of the parts... Waiting for 2 more things to start building. The cams from NPS and the transmission from being polished... Why haven't u posted a thread of your turbo build sir?!

#32 · (Edited)
Yes... Had it shaved down on the edges and rounded them off a bit to lighten, race cut the dogs and had the Hydro polishing... I've seen the finish product when I was there and it makes the transmission feel as smooth as a babies bottom and shine like chrome, also the race cutting of the dogs were already done

Looking good jay! On my pad right now my build is in the drag racing section!
Thanks bro!!! I can't wait...
I'm going to try to search it... I'm on my cell so sometimes its a lil hard

All this modding, but no suspension work? Damn

I'm leaving it for last, Maybe at a later time funds have been a lil low since the twins were born but I WILL get around to it as well as more expensive brakes :)

#40 ·
in wheels they are supposed to be worth a HP or 2... i know the bearings in my BST wheels are way superior to stockers or the ones in my CZ wheels.
Only bearing i know of people using the ceramics on the motor is the transmission bearing where the CS sprocket is...as them bearings are big MONEY$

I went to the shop I'm having my bike done at... And they explained to me that the bends are completely normal and everything was there they even showed me where the bracket was and explained that there is a connecting rod to where it is bent and the under brace which give the extra support to the bend... They also showed me a "Hardcore swingarm" as well as an "Adams swingarm" and they are 98% identical... So I left with some relief, he also showed me that my swingarm was a 1/8 inch thicker then the "Hardcore" swing arms so... I gues that's the way its made

P.S. He didn't sell me it so there is now reason for him to lie :D

#48 ·
I really want another swingarm the C & S swing arm... But the fact that I am told and showned that its a strong chromoly swingarm (stronger the others) and reenforced in the right spots makes me feel better to sell it to someone else... Don't want to rip anyone off... One of the employees at the shop has the same swing arm on a zx10 with nitrous for over a year and never had an issue... Now if he sold me the swingarm I would start to believe he's lying but he didn't so why should he?
