I have 8300 miles on my 03 636. I dont think the coolant has ever been changed before. What do you guys recommend and how many Quarts will I need?

The guy at the local bike shop tried to sell me something that was $25 for 1.85Liters.

let me know!

you can use automotive antifreeze if you'd like. make sure it's nonnitrate, nonsilicate. do not exceed a 60/40 coolant/water mix.

he lives in minnesota. water wetter doesn't lower the freezing point of the water very much so he's gonna have to actually run antifreeze unless he wants to drain the system completely for every winter.

engine ice doesn't do sh*t. its purple antifreeze. i feel like it warms up faster and to higher temp but cools faster. so i would save the money and buy normal stuff. im really disappointed and try to discourage anyone from buying it.

Most tracks don't allow normal coolants, Water Wetter is about your only option... and if you keep it in heated storage (anything above 35*F) you should be fine.

You can run Water Wetter, straight water, or VP Cool Down.

you have to remember that not even water boils at 212deg in a properly functioning cooling system. the pressure raises boiling point significantly
Correct, usually right around 250° +/- 10°.

That said, I wouldn't run the entire bottle of water watter, it's too much. You only need half at most. Save the other half for the next flush.

It seems to be known that it keeps things cooler in most instances. I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Water Wetter. Other ones not so much.

I still have yet to do a complete flush. Is there a how to on how to properly flush the old stuff out and put in the new stuff. Alot is talked about i just havent seen a how to on what to do to flush it.

For a normal street bike, I'd just use green coolant with the same specs as Kawi recommends. To my knowledge, in areas that don't get to hot or to cold a 50/50 mix is fine. In colder areas a 60/40 coolant/water to aviod freezing and in warmer areas a 40/60 coolant water for better cooling. basically more coolant for areas that freeze or more water for areas that are hot. No more than a 70/30 is recommended ratio to prevent rust, boiling and corrosion

After much research (yes, I'm one of those guys that researches EVERYTHING before he buys for days) I found better coolant than anything I've used so far.

10$ at your local Honda dealer..

+ 2 caps of water wetter.

Much cheaper, easier and effective than Engine Ice.
