he lives in minnesota. water wetter doesn't lower the freezing point of the water very much so he's gonna have to actually run antifreeze unless he wants to drain the system completely for every winter.

All the manufacturers claims are bogus besides its max and min temperature.

If you dont track just get the normal stuff!

 

I use the engine ice stuff, although I hear that the motul coolant is better. How often should the coolant be changed if the bike is used for normal riding and a once a month track day?

 

I use PEAK. Same stuff a local Kawasaki shop uses.

 

engine ice doesn't do sh*t. its purple antifreeze. i feel like it warms up faster and to higher temp but cools faster. so i would save the money and buy normal stuff. im really disappointed and try to discourage anyone from buying it.

 

I personally am a huge fan of KAWASAKI ALUMA-COOL ENGINE COOLANT never had a problem with it, its made for aluminum radiators so they don't rust, and i always run 5-10 degrees less then my friends stock cbr and another gsxr 750 (10-15 degrees less then his)

 

I have an 06 and I want to do a coolant flush so I had the same question. How much would I need?

Just make it sure it wont boil under 250F, as bikes do get that high cooling temperatures, and sometimes less profable antifreeze or just bare water (yeah) wants to peck trough and out from ur sistem

 

What coolant can i use if i want to ride both the track and street without changing after i'm done on the track?

 

Most tracks don't allow normal coolants, Water Wetter is about your only option... and if you keep it in heated storage (anything above 35*F) you should be fine.

Correct, usually right around 250° +/- 10°.

That said, I wouldn't run the entire bottle of water watter, it's too much. You only need half at most. Save the other half for the next flush.

 

It seems to be known that it keeps things cooler in most instances. I've heard nothing but positive reviews on Water Wetter. Other ones not so much.

 

I still have yet to do a complete flush. Is there a how to on how to properly flush the old stuff out and put in the new stuff. Alot is talked about i just havent seen a how to on what to do to flush it.

 

an unusual coolant

I am now using this coolant, but it did take some special flushing before adding it, to remove all the old water. They sell a race version, but you would need to check with your track requirements to see if they allow NPG+ or NPGR during a track day:

For a normal street bike, I'd just use green coolant with the same specs as Kawi recommends. To my knowledge, in areas that don't get to hot or to cold a 50/50 mix is fine. In colder areas a 60/40 coolant/water to aviod freezing and in warmer areas a 40/60 coolant water for better cooling. basically more coolant for areas that freeze or more water for areas that are hot. No more than a 70/30 is recommended ratio to prevent rust, boiling and corrosion

 

So for water wetter 1 bottle of water wetter and the rest Distilled water? Since there's only 12fl oz in water wetter so 76fl oz of distilled water?

 

After much research (yes, I'm one of those guys that researches EVERYTHING before he buys for days) I found better coolant than anything I've used so far.

10$ at your local Honda dealer..

+ 2 caps of water wetter.

Much cheaper, easier and effective than Engine Ice.

i just did a flush yesterday and put in the prestone that you can get at walmart was safe for alum and seems fine.

 

Only good stuff to say about water wetter. Tracks like it and bikes like it.

 

I run water wetter and distilled water. As GTS said .. I have to drain the coolant at the end of fall so it doesn't freeze. Did the same process last year.
